Happy New Year!

Okay, so for some reason it is ridiculously hard to get my pictures from where they loaded (at the top) to where I want them (mixed in with the text)... I'm too tired to mess with it anymore, so here you go. Pictures and then info. No, this is not his...nor will he be getting a motorcycle until it is no longer up to me...but, he sure looks cute riding it, and knows what to do with it. Crazy.

Unfortunately this is his new "smiling for the camera" face.

Javs with his "oop"

He loves his daddy. One of my favorite things is seeing him run to Simon when he gets home from work. We also pray for dad several times during the day. Javi folds his arms and says "Dad" and mom does the rest. :)

Javi with his cousins Roland (Peanut...) and Nathan (Nate Nate). They're both Nate Nate to Javi...and it's easy to say since he already says Night Night. :) Roland just randomly put his arms around the other two.

I don't know why they were all in to lying down. Oh, and the matching pjs were from Simon's mom and dad. Thanks!

He found this sheet of music in his room and took Simon to the piano and had him open it so he could sit there and play. Mozart here we come...

Hi Everyone! (or just Corey, depending on how many people still check this blog considering I haven't written in FOR-EV-ER).
So far 2010 has been lots of fun...if fun is being pregnant, big, and uncomfortable...no, but really it has been fun. Javi is at the stage where he learns new things every day. It is so fun to watch him and have him surprise me with the things he does and says. Simon takes a motorcycle to work and Javi calls his helmet a hat. The other day he said, "Dad" "hat" "bye Dad". He knows that when dad has his hat, he's going to be leaving. :) I love watching his little brain work. Other new words are backpack, hot dog, football and apple juice. The sad thing about apple juice is that when he first started saying it he said it really clearly but now he's getting lazy and he sounds like he's swearing in Spanish. Great...especially in the high density Spanish-speaking area we live in.

Javi still loves balls. One of the best purchases we ever made was a little basketball hoop you nail to the wall and a little plastic ball. It was all just 99 cents! We put it in his room and he loves it! We also have his big hoop on the patio and when the weather is nice he loves to play there too. He loves any book with a ball in it and is always acting out throwing the ball.

We had a super fun weekend last week. We went down to San Diego to see my brother before he took off for Alaska for cold weather training - he's training to be a Navy Seal. It also happened that my cousin Tracy was coming out from New York for the weekend and there was a BYU/SDSU basketball. My aunt and uncle ended up coming down for the game as well. It was super fun. It was actually Javi's second college basketball game. My dad took him to another SDSU game earlier in the season. He LOVES it. The fact that there's a ball and a "oop" and on top of that that Grandpa and Bryce were there. It was like the best thing ever.

The pregnancy is going pretty well. I'm sort of ready to not be pregnant any more...I'm definitely in the uncomfortable stage, but I'm not sure that I'm ready to have 2 kids...I have no idea how it will all work out, but I'm sure it will. :)

Anyway, that's the updates as far as our family. I have an ultrasound on Thursday to look at the size of the baby, etc. The doctor didn't sound like they would induce me anyway, but it will be nice to see him again and to see how he's progressing. He's definitely a mover.

Well, that's it for now. Yay for the new year!

A few random things.

So, Javi is in the crazy stage these days where he learns new things about every 30 seconds. Saturday we were at Simon's parents eating and I was having some chicken. Javi came up to me and said bac bac, meaning he wanted chicken. It took me a minute to figure out what he was saying, but I couldn't believe it. He is so smart! :)

The same day I was asking him his different body parts because he knows most of them, and he says arm, like aaaaaahm, it's so cute....so I asked him where his bum was, just because I never had before and he patted the couch. At least he knows what I mean when I say to sit on his bum. :)
These pictures are all pretty old...mostly about a month old, which is an eternity when it comes to little ones, but they're still fun to see. I'll get some more current ones up here soon. :)
This picture is from a hayride. It's not the best photo ever, but at least it's all 3 (4) of us. :)

Sometimes, especially now that I'm pregnant, I'm just really tired. Like so tired that I don't even care what mess Javi might make. (Luckily, this past month or so I've been a lot better, but still...) This is what I woke up to one time. I just love the look on his face. He was very happy with himself. :)

Here he is using a thermometer to paint his toes. :) Too funny

Nothing warms my heart more than to see Javi and Simon reading together. Unfortunately when I come in with the camera it ruins the moment. Oh well.

For a while I avoided letting Javi feed himself with a spoon for messy things. He's been using a fork for forever, but I finally decided to let it know. Here's his first experience eating yogurt by himself. :) He had just started doing this fake grin, he's kind of in between grins in this one.

I had an even cuter video than this but it went over the 100 mb limit, or whatever. Lame! This one's still pretty cute though.

Anyway, that's all for me tonight. Time to sleep!!! Hopefully it won't be another month before I post some more!

Happy (late) Halloween!!

And Happy Birthday Shannon! (Sorry so late, but at least you get a shout out in my blog...that has to be worth something, right???

I just wanted to post some pictures of cute little Javi in his scarecrow costume my mom made him. It was exactly what I had pictured and, shockingly, the hat didn't bother him at all.

Enjoy!

And now this is even later, because the pictures I tried to post didn't post. AHHHHH!!! So here are just a few to make Corey happy. :)

This was a few weeks before Halloween. We went to pick apples up in Oak Glen near Yucaipa. Unfortunately, they had run out of apples....sad. But we had fun anyway, and got some cute pictures of Javi.

It's funny because I took these pictures with my friend Ariana a few days before Halloween because Javi was supposed to dress up for the story time we go to at the Cerritos library. I was glad we did because on actual Halloween Simon, Javi and I were at the church all day getting things set up for the Halloween party (Simon is the Activity's man) and then when it all started Javs was asleep. So he didn't even have his costume on at the Halloween party. He wore it later at the Guzmans and I got some pictures of him and his cousins that I'll post later.

I'm back, sort of

So here's a quick video post to get myself back in the swing of blogging...it's not that I've been super busy, just lazy.

Oh, and to anyone who doesn't know... I'm pregnant!!! Due March 4th. Next week we find out what we're having!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're super excited. Oh, and where did any of you get those cute baby countdowns for the blog???

Javi is hilarious and doing more and more every day. He is a crack up. I'll write more later I promise, and I have more videos too.

This video I took of Javi way back in September (a long time when you're going from almost 17 months to almost 18 months) when we were checking out one of our vacant apartments (we are apartment managers and currently have no vacants, which is AWESOME!!!!) I got him to do some of his tricks. :)

Randomness

Well, while I'm on a roll (with a lot of other things I SHOULD be doing...), here are a few random photos and videos from the past month or so.

Okay, so I have to put two of these pictures up because the first one is cute of Javi and not great of Jenna and the other is so cute of Jenna and just okay of Javi. This was one fun day when we met Jenna for lunch. I can't remember if it was for a specific reason or just for kicks.

And here they are dancing, or something...

video

This is my uncle Bruce and even though you can't tell by this picture, Javi was fascinated by him spinning the basketball on his finger. I was inside making dinner or something and saw Javi cracking up, but by the time I found the camera and went outside I guess he was over it...

Finally, I just love this video of Javi playing peek-a-boo...of course by the time I started taping he wasn't quite as into it as before...but you can get the idea. :) I love my boy.

a quick post

Well, while I'm waiting on hold on the phone, I figure I might as well be productive. :) We're in our new place and loving it. I will post pictures later.

I can't believe it's been so long since I last posted. Here are some fun pictures from the 4th of July. The night of the 3rd we watched fireworks with some people from church at the La Mirada park. Javi really liked it and there was yummy food. He loved sitting in this chair, I'm not even sure who's it was. He especially loved it when he figured out he could put the water bottle in the little holder.
He was sitting with Simon before the fireworks started but when the first ones came (we were really close so it was super loud) he started going, mom, mom, mom...each time a little more panicky. He was sort of okay after that. He liked them much more the next day when we watched them from a little farther off.

Then on the 4th we had a lot of fun with the Guzmans. Juanita gave him this flag for his fourth of july picture. :) He's so patriotic. First at their house for a little barbeque, then at Simon's aunt's for a cousin's birthday party with the pinata and then to a park to watch the fireworks. It's fun to watch the boys get bigger and play more with each other.

I swear he's my son even though he doesn't love ice cream...his cousins sure do though. I love his little face in the background. These are my little nephews Roland in the back and Nathan.
Nathan may only be 11 months old, but he knows how to chow down on an ice cream cone! This is with the pinata at Simon's cousin's party. I thought Javi would be pumped to hit it because hitting things with stick-like objects is his favorite pasttime...I think there were just too many people. Just wait.
He did figure out that it was a good idea to pick up the candy that fell out of the pinata. I attribute it partly to the fact that we are always picking up trash at our apartment building...I'm making a neat freak out of my child...okay, side story...the other day at church I had him in the back of Relief Society (what, Javi disruptive???) and I put him down for a sec. He saw a little spec of paper on the ground, picked it up, and proceeded to put in the bag of a lady near us. Always cleaning. :) Love it.Okay, this mask was a crack up, you can sort of tell, even though I didn't get a great picture of it.

Okay, finally, here are a few picture of the whole group at the park. Javi and Roland had fun playing with the light up toy things. Javi kept putting the one in his mouth, it looked like a cigarette. The good thing was that Javi didn't get scared by the fireworks. It was a great show. The other funny thing about being in LA is that people do crazy (illegal) fireworks from their houses, so as we were driving home from the fireworks show we had another on the freeway, at one point we could see like 7 or 8 different mini shows from people's houses. The fourth never ends!!!! Oh yeah, one more fun thing. I got those popper firecracker things that you throw on the ground. Javi had fun throwing them and actually did it with enough force to pop them. :)

This is the whole fam (I'm the photog) Roland is holding Roland and Vince is next to Simon. What a fun family!
Cute, watching the fireworks. Roland kept saying ooooh and pointing at the fireworks.

Here's Javi fighting and smoking....although I think you can get an idea of where he got it from when you look at that group picture...

I like this picture because Martha is smiling, which she does a lot, except not in pictures...

Well, so much for a quick post... Enjoy!

Fun times for the Guzmans

Well, The week has finally come. We are moving!!!!!!!!!! Honestly, there were times I doubted this would ever happen. We're so excited. We got a job as apartment managers in the city of Bellflower. We finally get to use all of our wedding gifts! It's not our ideal place to live, we wanted to be closer to Simon's school and work and this is further (farther?) but it's a great opportunity for us and closer to the freeways so it will probably take him about the same amount of time anyway.

Javi is just as cute as ever. We went to the beach Friday and he had fun playing in the sand. He has the best, most contagious laugh. I love being his mom. :)
This one was actually a few weeks ago when we went to the beach with Jenna.
He really loves dogs (sorry Jenna). This is at the house of the kid I teach piano lessons to. He always barks when he sees dogs...or other animals. :)
He also loves, loves, loves basketball and will get anyone he can...usually Simon, my dad, my brother Bryce when was saw him last weekend, Corey's husband Michael, me, you name it...to shoot the ball with him.

Okay, the following video isn't super exciting, but it's just so fun to hear Javi's laugh. :)

video
This one just shows how much Javi loves basketball. :) Oh, and don't judge the outfit...it was almost bedtime or something...I don't even remember.
